Domestic Rat Information

Domestic rats are very popular today. Children love them. They are small and cute. These animals are very different of their wild rat ancestors. They are a domesticated breed of the brown rat, and sometimes of the black rat. Domestic rats are calm, gentle animals. They love companionship and are extremely clean. Domestic rats are also called "pet rats" or "fancy rats". Males are larger than females; while female rats tend to be more active than male rats.
